Planning a few days to Frankfurt. We are leaving Sunday and I just found out we need a Umweltplakette. Spoke to TUV, Tourist Office, Dekra, some tankstations......but no-one can help. Where can we buy this on Sunday on our way from Arnhem to Frankfurt... HELP HELP HELP Thanks, Jacqueline
Maybe you can look for a car seller, who has opened at sunday and contact him, that you want to buy a Umweltplakette? Good luck Lian

Kaufen vielleicht nicht aber bezahlen muss man sie trotzdem 
Do you really need it when you come as a tourist? Normally you get it from the car registration office or garages like ATU but you will need to show them the motor vehicle registration certificate which states that your car fulfills the requirements - if it is a diesel that is otherwise you'd get it anyway (at least here in Berlin).
The Umweltplakette cannot be bought, it will be issued for cars which fulfill the requirements. Do you use your own car? Or will you rent a car? You can expect rented cars to fulfill the requirements and have a Umweltplakette. If you use your own car, I have to admit, I am not aware of the laws in Frankfurt. Here in Munich the Umweltplakette is not required for cars with a foreign license plate.
