Hi;) We are trying for a baby. Early this year we lost the pregnacy. After the miscarriage I have some problems. Right now the blood test showed too high progesteron ( male chormon ). I was wondering if someone has an experiance with such a situation and how can it effect our trying for a baby. Thank you for your infos. Greetings, Marta
Hey Marta, I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage (I had one too a couple of years ago). Don't worry too much about the high male hormone. By the way, it's obviously Testosteron, what you mean, not Progesteron. Progesteron is a female hormone that every woman produces after her ovulation, and that helps to support a very young pregnancy. A too high male hormone level is in most of the cases caused by stress, an unfavourable way of living or emotional problems and worries. There are two ways to solve the problem: You can take a special medication (in Germany it's Dexamethason) to reduce the testosteron. This of course doesn't heal the hormonal disbalance, but only supresses its effects. The second and much better way is a change in your living circumstances, for example by practicing yoga, meditation or another kind of relaxation exercices every day. It needs only 15 minutes a day. Do some moderate sport every day and avoid too much fat, meat and sugar in your nutrition, use cold pressed vegetable oils (very important for the hormones) and eat a fruit or vegetables four to five times a day. If you are consequent, the male hormone often can be reduced to a normal level in a few months. I'm sure that you will soon be pregnant again! I hope I could help you a little, take care, Mijou
